Marelyn Larios

Marelyn Larios is a printmaking and fiber artist living and working in Southern California. She binds, stitches, rips, punctures, waxes , pins and layers in order to create organization with chaotic patterns. Her day-to-day work focuses on teaching and supporting fellow artists, teachers and students, managing the Patrick Merrill Printmaking Studio at the Irvine Fine Arts Center.

Marelyn’s work explores the beauty and complexity found within cracked and broken subjects, in this case the egg. From daily sustenance to the limits of a protective shell, Larios intends to find the meaning and strength within the cracks of our being.
